A few yrs back, I had the priviledge of visiting Rajasthan. And it appeared that I had travelled back to some historical era. Rajasthan is just excellent! The lofty palaces, royale forts, and never ending alleys makes the entire city bloom with an ethnic appearence.Lake Palace

The women are mostly clad in long skirts locally known as “Ghagra” and men in white robes better known as “dhoti”. However these kinds of garments are more popular with the tribals as opposed to city dewellers who prefer formal wears. The entire state seemed to be engulfed in an aristrocatic elegance and reflected a charismatic aura of its own.
Some of the most important tourist destinations include Ajmer, Jaisalmir, Pushpar, Kota, Jodhpur and Udaipur.
Of them, the one which deserves special mention in my blog is Udaipur, better known as “The Lake City”. Named after Rana Udai Singh, the king of Mewar, the city was the capital of the then king.
The city is embedded between lakes and its elegane is no less than a fairytale land in some unknown era. The Lake Palace covers an entire island on Pichola Lake is one of the several instances of the royale elegance of the city. Other tourist destinations include, Fateh Sagar Lake, Jag Mandir, Maharana Pratap Memorial, Dudh Talai. As per historical findings, Udaipur was the only city that was left uncaptured by Mughal forces. Among all the glamour of tourist destinations, Udaipur donnes its own glory. It stands apart unfettered…. undaunted with the pedestals of time.
